Frequently Asked Questions
There are so many things to think about when planning an event, and we see a lot of common questions come in when it comes to the use of the space and event questions in general. Below we have outlined some of the most frequently asked questions. This is a great place to start when planning your event.

What is the capacity of the ballroom?
Our capacity for a seated dinner reception in the ballroom is 275 persons.
Can we decorate prior to the event date?
Availability for decorating depends on the package you choose. See our pricing for more information!
Is the venue ADA compliant?
Yes, we have an elevator located on the ground floor. Guests are able to take the elevator to the third floor.
Where is event parking?
There is no dedicated Spohn Event parking. There is street parking outside of the venue and a public lot in the block southeast of the venue. Guests must follow signage posted by the City of Goshen.
Are tables and chairs included in the rental fee?
Yes. We set up tables and chairs with chair covers according to the layout you select.
Is there a staff member present for events?
Yes, an event manager is available during events for any guest’s questions. A security guard can be arranged for an additional fee.
Do we need to hire a coordinator?
We do not require a professional coordinator. However, the Spohn does not include a dedicated wedding planner. Our Event Manager is responsible for all things related to the building and is available for any questions your vendors or guests may have. They are not responsible for the tasks pertaining to the wedding party, timeline, etc. If you are looking for a coordinator, reach out for our recommendations!
Are linens included in the rental fee?
As each event is unique, linens and napkins are not included in your rental fee. Clients can rent linens from any rental company in the area, or you may choose to use the local vendor we work with.
Does the Spohn have a preferred vendor list?
Yes! Our team is happy to share our Preferred Vendor list with you. We do not require that you use vendors from our list. Build your dream vendor team for your event!
When can I schedule rehearsal?
Rehearsals are scheduled no more than 3 months in advance. One hour is allotted for rehearsals and is scheduled per the availability of the Spohn.
Is event insurance required?
Yes, event insurance is required. We suggest obtaining wedding insurance through Eventsured.
Can I put a hold on my date?
Event reservations are made only when initial deposits are collected, along with a signed contract.
How do we select a caterer and/or bartender?
We require that outside catering companies have an active license. Bartending requirements vary depending on whether you have an open bar or a cash bar.
What time does my event have to end?
Events are to conclude at 11pm, and we also ask that bar service stop 30 minutes before the end of the event.

Can we use candles?
Yes, as long as flames are enclosed in glass cylinders. Candles can not be lit with the flame exposed.
